X-Men breaks US box office records

The X-Men mutants have overpowered the human competition at the US box office for the Memorial Day holiday weekend in North America.

The final film in the comic-book trilogy logged the fourth-biggest opening of all time, according to studio estimates on Monday.

X-Men: The Last Stand earned $US120.1 million ($A158.9 million) in the four days since opening on May 26, distributor 20th Century Fox said on Monday.

It set new records as the biggest Memorial Day holiday opener ever and the biggest debut so far this year.

The Da Vinci Code previously held the honours for the best opening of the year after launching last weekend to $US77 million ($A101.9 million). XMEN over Da Vinci Code

It slipped to No. 2 with a four-day sum of $US43 million and a total of $US145.5 million ($A192.5 million), but remained the top film internationally.

Over the Hedge was No. 3 in North America with $US35.3 million ($A46.7 million), also down one spot. Its two-week total rose to $US84.4 million ($A111.6 million).

While the X-Men franchise is on fire, Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible series is on the ropes.

Mission: Impossible III has grossed $US115.8 million ($A153.2 million) after four weekends. XMEN over Misson ImPosSIbLE

At the same stage in their cycles, 1996's Mission: Impossible had earned about $US145 million ($A191.8 million), and 2000's Mission: Impossible 2 $US177 million ($A234.1 million). For the current weekend, the new film earned $US8.6 million, ranking at No. 4.

The Friday-to-Sunday haul for X-Men: The Last Stand was $US103.1 ($A136.37) million, revised down from the $US107 million ($A141.5 million) estimate released on Sunday. But the three-day sum still ranks No. 4 on the all-time list.

The record for a film opening on a Friday is held by 2002's Spider-Man ($US115 million) ($A152.1 million), followed by 2005's Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith ($US108.4 million) ($A143.4 million) and 2004's Shrek 2 ($US108 million) ($A142.9 million).

..and i have finally watched it.. four years have i waited for it eh? lol. but gah. smack bang in the middle of exam timetable sort of.. WE MUST STUDY!! (well.. i have to if i want to pass..grr..no fair to those super genius' that dont need to study five hours a day just to pass)

okie.. so into cinemas we go.. WAH! i LOVE the marvel starting.. with the comic book pages flickering hahaha.. *excited*

I must say the music team did a great job.. i liked the soundtrack..if you could call it that..
GRR DAMN YOU BRYAN SINGER!! HOW DARE YOU LEAVE XMEN AND GO FOR SUPERMAN.. not only did you do that.. BUT YOU TOOK HALF OF THE XMEN CREW!!

in case you didnt know. byran singer was the guy that did a great job directing the previous two xmen films. After he left four other directors took on the project and left!! GAH!! xmen aint a game.. the final movie should have been the best.. dammit.. i agree..the ending was too abrupt and didnt' work too well.

but hey..it's xmen and i still loved it. I applaude the guy Brett Ratner that filmed it in two weeks..or that extremely short amount of time ^^

AND THERE WONT BE AN XMEN 4 lol.. even though the ending made you think that there could be,,it's a trilogy!

When rogue left the mansion she opened the door and the background (bout 5cm of scenery) behind her was all green and had this yellow/green filter on it. Reminded me of a mysterious person..like how she was depicted in the comics

Dislikes

- abrupt ending

- the rogue i know would NEVER get rid of her powers no matter what she went through. She's way stronger in the comics

-angel should have a more important role. He isn't that shy in the comics...he was more of a hero to some pplz. argh.. that was scary when he tried to chop the wings off. ><

- silly.. snippit after the credits. lol. .they arent making a fourth movie..but that made everyone think that they are.

steam boat night!!

Alright youth group..tonight was "cell dating night" ..basically a bunch of us Christians just meet up on a friday and split up into bible study groups.. but so far it's just been chillin'. lol... those groups and called "cells" coz we want to mutiply in numbers and split in to more groups..forming a big church in the long run ^-^ nice aim eh?

well. tonights activity was pairing up with another cell group..doing something to get to know them better

lol if you dont know what steam boat is well. it's a big pot.. with boiling water and you put what ever you want to eat in it..and cook it .. ^^

alrighy.. all the food is uncooked..in they go!!

aRGH! we left the fish balls in there for too long ><..we did the coke vs. pepsi test.. aww the girls lost.. we cant tell which is which ><sister's youth group.. cell group bunch just watched a movie ^^

well.. everything technology and computer related was at the computer market helded today at Springvale Town HAll.

Never been to one.. but i thought i might as well go and have a look at what is there. WAh.. so many asians and LOTS!! table lotsS.. benches ..fuLL of pirated cd's, music, movies lol. i saw ice age two there going for ten bucks.. and software..

The stuff was interesting to look at.. all those circuit boards...but i had no idea what they were so meh..

*walked past more tables* and the stall owners just LOVE to sell stuff.. 9/10 THOUGHT I WAS A DUDE! BWHAHAHAHA.. i just went with the flow and acted like one too. lol.. it was hilarious..

day began.. 7am at school.. "see you at the pole" - time of just yer.. reflection, sharing, song and prayer.. where all schools around Australia do the exact same thing! waH!!..i'm sure that in the future more and more people will show up =]

My day hasn't been this peaceful as it has like this in ages.. despite the 'still behindness in hw' i was prepared for whatever came really.. not stressing like crazy.. It really pointed out to me how important quiet time in the morning was ..just reflect and give it all up to the Lord.. read the bible and then study chem and then head of to school. >< FREE FOOD ^^. .the principle's something something.. mentor program. haha. twenty or so year 12 students were paired up with a teacher "mentor" that was goina help you through the year or something.. i got ms. macleod.. *shh!!.. sTOp LAUGHING!!* ALL OF YOU =P.. our converstation was bleh.. she talked about maths and i had no interest.. i talked about art..and she had no interest.. great... -_-' at least i can go to her for maths help??? dunno, never had her as a teacher.. but she is head of maths and all.. she knows her stuff righTTT???

Ack.. mr. schiller has already recongised my bad impluse for continuous eating ..he just had to annouce that to everyone there =P it was funny watching people walk past the senior center though. A COCKROACH!! 5cm in LENGTH!! shessh..it came out of her folder and scared literally the living daylights out of her.. bWahahaa.. calium came to the rescue and picked it off her folder. LMAO!! everyone cracked up laughing..

so fair i found out that.. along with being school captain... we get FREE LUNCHES!! wo0T!!.. those sandwiches i had today was waY better than the plain bread i got yesterday coz i forgot to wake up early enough to make lunch.. newayz...

There was lots of different kinds of sandwiches.. ack.. i didn't realise they had fish in some.. ewww..raw salmon.. who puts that into their sandwich?? ack. i had to eat it anyways..in front of principle and all =P

well.. that's pretty much all for today..

..must get cracking on lots of hw..especially media and vcd.. i have no idea how i'm goina pull it off

...year 10 media revisited

righto.. as you all should know i'm doing media.. ^^ fun subject yaY! haha.. it took davy FifTEEN!! attempts to guess the five subjects i'm undertaking this year lol.. yep.. last one's media.

anyways.. thankz HEAPS!! to madu for being sooo generous and lettin me borrow your video camera...your family's video camera. eep.. i will make sure..nuffIN happens to it =]

so i wanted to record something and haha.. she had a tape aready in there.. HAHA ROY and someone forgot who was having a 'mock' right.. it was for english in year 10 i think..were they had to make a film bout "THE WAVE!" hahaha.. so they were fighting. .lol.. the funny thing was that aaron chock was in the background minding his own business and opening his locker.. unafftected...but this temporary nazi movement..hehe

Then i placed my old year 10 tape in and HAhaha.. "LORD OF THE DUSTER" a parody of lord of the rings of course.. but this is where an evil prinicple forged a "duster" yep...the old blackboard dusters.. and we were on a quest to desTROY it by throwing it into the staffroom of doom lol. HILARIOUS STUFF GUYS!

That's where the irony comes in. Skye and cindy were the hobbits and sibyl was the black knight person after them..and i was strider!! (i think that's how ya spell it) well i was the person to help them out.. this was the weird bit.. i had rarely any lines.. but one of them was .. "Hi, i'm strider..heir to the throne of school captain!!" *blinks*.. skye and her scriptwriting.. hehe.

now.. must revisit year 11 media.. >< need ta know my theory...

i had the gut feeling i wouldn't make it..and i've probably mentioned to a number of you that i just wanted to sleep.. and be oblivious to all.. and wake up on saturday after it was all over. Yes, that is me sometimes.. really lazy.. trying to get the easy way out.. just sleep through it..

Depressing that our friday had to end like this..

each of you would be affected differently to the loss of our year twelve classmate. but just remember dont be so harsh on yourselves.. we cant go back in time.. we cant change what has happened.. just take the positive aspects out of it and reflect and grow as a person.

SOOO CLOSE!! WAHH .. i was serving and didnt make it past the line >< SP TEAM IS UNDEFEATABLE! lol.. i think that's a word.. Peter and I won against angel and alvin..AND.. grace and andrew. keke..
