The project team is seeking intergenerational families who are
interested in participating in a console gaming study. They require
families with children and with grandparents living nearby who visit
regularly. Participants will be loaned an Xbox 360 and Kinect sensor
for two weeks and asked to play games together as a family frequently.
The project team will visit a few times over the study to observe, and
will also ask the family to record their gameplay using a provided
video camera.

queen vs oprah

took what i thought would have got me into work early but unfortunately niu...metro you are so uncool, especially with the change at Richmond thing.. ugh.
nevertheless, was able to bump into my first year optics friends. interesting train ride to start the day, really wanted to sleep for half of it, and catch up with Moore College readings and Psalms but.. witnessing to friends is just as important =P
"i thought you were younger than me" - friend of friend who was 19?
sheesh.. do i really look that youthful 0_0
"yer, when i found out she was in 5th year, i was *jaw drop* for the rest of the day" - Amanda
i was *jaw dropped* when i found out my optics demonstrators were also in their 5th year of Melb uni.. but they are IN THEIR PhD!!!! -_____- geez, im unaccomplished much lol.
but not that success was something that was on my mind, it was more like embarrassment of hassling them for the whole semesters for answers, having now found out they are the same age as me Y_Y
train ride continues with me trying to get my phone screen working>.> getting a new one is no where near my priorites right now, so yer, most ya guys know my screen blanks out when it feels like it. Am I living behind the times, if i want a non-touch screen phone with tactile buttons?
anywho.
"optics resutls are out" - A
" REALLY?!?!?! when? " - me
"yesterday" - A
" checking now " - B
hmm..i guess smart phones are handy. ZOMG THANK YOU 27/30 !!!!!!!!!! graduation looks slightly hopeful ><" ah boy, calculus in exam is not going to be pretty -.-
anyways... getting to the title of this post. Queen vs Oprah.
as happenstance shall place me, upon both sorta-important-to-the-world-persons popping down to Fed Sq for a visit, I was working. yay. extended lunch break. =]
noted:
1. the queen is a lot shorter than i expected
2. her mob of security really hid her from being seen well, as she is so little
3. being 2 meters away from her didn't excite me as much as being in the same room Stan Lee will be in the follow day lewl. =P
4. she actually pulls off a bright pink suit
5. crowd wise, there was plenty of walking space in Fed Sq. and compared to Oprah coming.. woah. I was sandwiched, couldn't even make my way back in to Acmi after lunch.
she gets a special clean tram to exit. grrr.. that isn't the real melbourn experience lol.*wants to sit on this clean tram going to uni*
"Oh, apparently the Queen is coming. I don't care, I'm here to see the exhibition, I'm American" - visitor at Acmi. lewl one of the small things that made my day.

working title
http://www.c31.org.au/schedule/view/episode/38187
bible back on Hollywood agenda
started more so in the 60-70s to rival the rise in success of television, keeping theatre go-ers glued to the box. They needed something fanciful and big to draw audiences in.
in the same time period, was 3D tech too. but of bad quality.
anywho.. this interest in turning the Old Testiment stories could be of great interest or could backfire. I mean, comedy has been tried e.g the flop of Evan Almighty .. but this time Hollywood is getting serious. how close will they try to adapt the original text?
Paramount and New Regency are building the big-budget Noah with Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky;
Relativity has Goliath in the works with director Scott Derrickson;
Warner Bros. has its controversial Judah Maccabee/Hannukkah movie with Mel Gibson producing (that film is competing with another Maccabee project);
Steven Spielberg is considering directing Gods and Kings, a Moses story; and an adaptation of John Milton’s Paradise Lost starring Bradley Cooper as Lucifer is aiming for a January shoot.
time shall tell..
comment from producer Wyck Godfrey saw "comic-book, video-game and fairy-tale cycles running their course" and maybe this might be the next big thing.
hmm Godfrey has a good point. comic book to movie is extremely over done well for 2011 anyways. i mean how many more Iron mans can we tolerate. maybe bible stories can work?
God willing.

Xmen anime to premier Oct 21.
(hmm..i thought they already did an anime version of it ages go. *shrugs*)
It is HORRIBLE
gah. what did they do to storm. *character sheets*
and plus i dunno, the voice acting coupled with the anime visual doesn't
seem right.. it's not effective and just sounds crap.
the deep, gritty, voice of wolverine is better matched to
or
than
it's probably because Wolerine is Canadian and I grew up watching that particular style
and associated anime with characters that are "asian" even though they
aren't representative of them at all..
i mean which asian has naturally green, blue, purple, blone hair?
but gahh..it just doesn't work.
xmen gone anime fails in my books.
reading other reviews...im not the only person annoyed
about the way they choose to represent wolverine >.>
at least they got one thing right
.cyclops is a douche

america anime.

for those who don't get easily offended.
still one of the most complex tv show i have ever EVER seen. on more than a zillion levels, themes, animation (which itself is not treated well in academia and can sprout a zillion papers), satire, quality tv, representation of gender, institution, culture, sexuality, the serial, the melodrama, the sitcom, difference and stereotype, national identity, race, self reflexivity and gah so many more.. this show just dips its face in every single possible facet of life being an image on screen, its ridiculously offensively successful and ground breaking...just some things that pop up_
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DrawnTogether
im sorry this still trumps anime in my eyes >: ] but anime does cut close..well some challenging ones anyway lol.
.sigh. the hope of writing this was that maybe..out of sudden insight i could formulate an essay topic for 60% worth of asessesment which somehow included Drawn Together & TV studies.
....still no luck..
..dammit.
there needs to be more scholars who write on animation!!! gahhhh.....
time to opt for the boring question of
"how as the family been represented in the tv sitcom" =.=""
unless someone can help me fathom an academic question surrounding animation with decent references =P
lewl i might as well say: someone do my homework for me hahahhaa
waking up tues morning smacking head into the wall has been
an interesting experience
i actually paid attention in class 0_0
lol.
but that was probably due to the free yoghurt @ MC = breakfast
and ZOMG. JohnnyDepp visited UC Berkeley for screening today
i should have stayed for another sem -.-
